EASTMAIN ACQUIRES UNCONFORMITY-TYPE URANIUM PROPERTIES

November 22, 2005

Eastmain Resources Inc. (ER:TSX) is pleased to announce that it has jointly staked four unconformity-type uranium properties within the Thelon Basin, North West Territories, with a private exploration company. The four properties comprise approximately 80,000 acres covering a key geologic trend prospective for sandstone-hosted unconformity-related uranium deposits. Over one-third of the world's uranium production comes from unconformity-related deposits like those found in the Athabasca and Thelon Basins of Canada. The largest and highest grade uranium mines in the world occur as sandstone-hosted unconformity-related deposits within Canada's Athabasca Basin. The highly prospective Thelon Basin represents a relatively unexplored geological equivalent to the Athabasca region.

Eastmain's primary focus is gold exploration within the James Bay region of northern Québec. However, with the growing demand for uranium resources, Eastmain will provide its shareholders with exposure to this commodity through a controlling interest in a private exploration company. Future acquisitions and exploration for unconformity-related uranium deposits will be under the direction of Dr. Neil Hillhouse, a special advisor to Eastmain.

Under the direction of P & E Mining Consultants, Eastmain is completing an in-house economic assessment of its Eau Claire gold deposit. Recent review of a 3-D Gemcom model of the deposit has identified a high-priority porphyry-type gold target at depth. This target is located at the intersection of the southeast plunging gold-bearing veins and a north dipping felsic porphyry situated immediately south of the Eau Claire deposit. A winter diamond drill program has been recommended to test this high-priority target and the depth extension of the Eau Claire vein system.

With over 1,850 claims covering 850 km2, Eastmain holds one of the largest land positions in the James Bay region of Québec - the newest emergent mining district in Canada. The Company also has significant land holdings covering key geology around the Eléonore discovery and the Eastmain gold mine.
