option on the C and D claim blocks, held by Azimut Exploration Inc. The C block is contiguous with
Virginia's Eléonore Gold property located in James Bay, Québec and recently acquired by Goldcorp Inc.
The discovery of a gold-arsenic-bearing soil anomaly that measures at least 7 km in length on the C block
(press release of Dec. 14, 2005), has prompted increased spending commitments for the 2006 season.
Eastmain plans to spend a minimum of $650,000 in exploration work on these properties in 2006. Work
programs will assess the gold anomaly on the C block, which is underlain by the same sedimentary rock
formation that contains the Roberto Gold Deposit at Eléonore, and numerous gold-in-soil anomalies also
detected on the D block, located immediately northwest of the Eléonore property. This phase of
exploration will include detailed geochemical and geological surveys, prospecting and trenching.
Diamond drilling of selected targets will follow.
Azimut holds 100% interest in the C and D blocks comprising a total of 354 claims (185 km2). Eastmain
has the option to earn up to 65% in the project. Eastmain is the project operator.
Management is also pleased to announce that Dr. Vincent Jourdain, P Eng. has joined Eastmain's
exploration team as District Manager of Québec. Dr. Jourdain was formerly head of Research and Project
Generation, Abitibi District for SOQUEM Inc. Vincent received his Ph.D. in Mineral Resources from the
Université of Québec in Montréal in 1993, where he completed a thesis on gold-bearing sulphide deposits
of the Grenville Province. With 20 years of experience in the industry, Vincent has worked for a number
of resource and development companies including Richmont Mines, where he supervised the bulk sample
program and final resource estimation for the Nugget Pond project located in Baie Verte, Newfoundland.
